Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford on shooting of Blade Runner. Here Ridley rehearses a fight wit Harrison - a conflict that was mirrored in a real life on the set.
Didn’t know that. Ridley is a much better director than Harrison is an actor. That gap may even have widened over time. And Ridley seems very demanding in terms of the tiniest detail of what he wants. I watched him shoot a commercial years ago, 1991 I think, for The Sheraton Hotel Corporation. He spent an hour moving a small lacquer box in the scene — an inch or two one way, an inch or two another. And that was just one object. I think it took him most of the afternoon getting 15 seconds of a 60 second commercial.
